Healing Hearts News

2/17/13

Last week, Healing Hearts was contacted by a shelter in NC and told that the owner of a puppy mill had died, and his relatives didn't want the 56 dogs left at the puppy mill. Since we are a small rescue without enough foster homes for that many dogs, we asked for help from another NoVA rescue group. On Friday night, the dogs arrived, and Healing Hearts has taken eleven of them to rehome. These poor Poodles, Shih Tzus and Shihpoos (Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes) arrived bedraggled and unkempt. Although they are microchipped, we have no veterinary records on them. Grooming, vaccinations and spaying/neutering is projected to cost around $3000. Dentals and other non-routine veterinary care will drive the total still higher.

If you are able to help us with these unexpected costs, we would be very grateful! Any amount is welcome. Please click on the link to the right to pay via PayPal.

And of course, you may also donate by mail. Please mail your check to:
